Ariana Sarwari was born and raised in New York, and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hofstra University in 2014. She is currently a graduate student in the MFA Photography program at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Sarwari explores issues of identity and truth in her work. Currently using both traditional and digital mediums, she grapples with how people present themselves to the camera and tries to face the unrelenting reality of the obscurity and hiddenness that photography brings to light in its effort to reveal. She most recently exhibited her work at Brooklyn’s Photoville Festival in September 2016.
